The inspiration behind Teresa’s Trotters
Prior to being paralysed from the tumour on her spine, Teresa Neate walked 6 kilometres every day. What started as a walk in her memory with close family and friends, has now grown to be an annual event where hundreds of Aftershockers come together.
Walk with us, or wherever you may be
For those in Melbourne, we will be returning to Princes Park at 8:30am on Sunday the 16th of February. You can expect a morning of connection, coffee and walking (of course!) with the broader Aftershock community. Together we walk two laps of Princes Park, so make sure you’ve got some comfy walking shoes and if you’d like to look the part, your Aftershock merch!
We’re so lucky that the Aftershock community spans across Australia, and many corners of the world. If you can’t make it in person, you can purchase a virtual ticket and walk 6 kilometres around your block, wherever that may be.
Who will you be walking for?
So many people who show up at an event like Teresa’s Trotters do so because of a deep connection to the cause. When purchasing your ticket, and on the day, we invite you to share your “why” with us. Your “why” may be a certain person in your life facing their battle with cancer or the memory of a life taken too soon. Together, we can celebrate these incredible individuals and walk one step closer to a cure for high mortality cancers.
We’re aiming even bigger in 2025
Each year we are blown away with how our community and partners show up. Last year we broke attendance and fundraising records for Teresa’s Trotters, with over $33,000 raised. These funds have already been allocated to our various research programs where some of the brightest minds are focusing their brilliant minds on finding more effective treatments for high mortality rate cancers. We can’t wait to see what we can achieve together this year!
